When Ethereum developers party in the catacombs of Paris

The party took place a few days before the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC) which was held in Paris from Tuesday to Thursday.

The place is rather unusual to talk about ether. Last week took place over three days the high mass of the Ethereum blockchain in Paris, called the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC).

The event brought together hundreds of participants, including many developers of the Ethereum blockchain, its co-founder Vitalik Buterin and all cryptocurrency enthusiasts. If the days were studious and made it possible to take stock of many subjects, from ether to decentralized finance (Defi) to the future transition of the blockchain called The Merge, the evenings were of a completely different kind. .

The American media CNBC reports that Ethereum developers had a techno party on the night of Saturday to Sunday preceding the event. And not in just any place. They would have chosen the catacombs of Paris, an emblematic place in the capital, which houses the bones of 6 million Parisians.

“It’s very illegal but also very crypto”

“It’s very illegal but also very crypto,” explained one of the 100 participants, who wished to remain anonymous.

To get to the party, the participants went on a real expedition, which consisted of “crawling under a fence, sneaking through caves, following the route of old railway lines, wading through muddy water until ‘thighs and do some rock climbing’.

People who participated in the event received a message on Telegram:

“If you were chosen for this adventure, you were added to a Telegram group with a handful of other people you didn’t know, and the guide went into the thread the same day to direct you to a meeting place. ”, says the participant.

In the end, the participants were able to party in a large cave, “where there was a DJ, a bar with neon lights, candles and people dancing”, specifies CNBC.
