Google Assistant’s ambient mode adds smart display functionality to your Android lock screen when your device is charging. Find out what Ambient Mode is and how to enable it for Android.
Android Ambient Mode is available for Google Pixel phones as well as select Nokia, Xiaomi, and OnePlus (OnePlus 3 or later) phones.
What is Google Assistant Ambient Mode?
In Ambient mode, your Android phone displays additional information like the weather, your calendar, and incoming notifications when plugged into the charger. So you can use Google Assistant, control audio playback, and even manage other synced devices, all without unlocking your phone. You can also set up a slideshow screen saver using your Google Photos.
Ambient mode effectively turns your phone into a smart display like Google’s Nest Hub Max when it’s charging. If you have smart devices connected, you can turn off lights, check your home security cameras, and more, using voice commands or the touchscreen.
If you have a new phone and it supports Ambient Mode, you will see a notification when you plug in the device. Tap the notification to go directly to your phone’s settings and turn on Ambient Mode. If you don’t see the notification, follow these steps:

Appuyez sur Plus.
Appuyez sur Paramètres.
Appuyez sur Google Assistant.
Allez sur l'onglet Assistant, puis faites défiler vers le bas et appuyez sur Téléphone.
Dans la section Personnalisation, appuyez sur Mode ambiant pour l'activer.
Si le mode ambiant ne figure pas parmi les options, cela signifie que votre téléphone ne prend pas en charge cette fonctionnalité.
Suivez les instructions à l'écran pour personnaliser le mode ambiant. Par exemple, vous pouvez choisir de lire un économiseur d'écran de type diaporama à partir de vos Google Photos lorsque vous ne l'utilisez pas.

While your phone is charging, you can use Google Assistant voice commands and manage your connected smart devices using the touchscreen. To change what shows in Ambient mode, open the Google Home app and go to Home > your device > Settings gear > Photo frame, then look under Other settings.

The default screen of Google smart displays is also called “Ambient Mode”. To change what shows in Ambient Mode on a Nest Hub or similar device, swipe up and tap the Settings gear > Photo Frame.
