West Ham discusses with OL for Lucas Paqueta!

What’s next after this ad

Several clubs have made Lucas Paqueta their priority. We were talking about the interest of Newcastle but another Premier League team has just entered the dance in order to enlist the 24-year-old player. Arriving from AC Milan in 2020 during the summer transfer window, the attacking midfielder has managed to carve out a place for himself in the Rhone workforce. The Brazilian is also a key element of the Brazilian national team with which he was selected 33 times for 7 goals scored.

The attacking midfielder has been announced for some time now and his profile is interesting. West Ham have also submitted an offer of 40 million euros to their French counterpart according to The Athletic. The sum seems relatively low when we know the Brazilian still has 3 years of contract in Lyon and that he is an indisputable holder. The discussions are therefore just beginning and it should be one of the hottest issues at the end of the Lyon transfer window.

A fan-favorite player

The transfer window of the English club is already a success with no less than seven new faces. In defense notably with Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer, Emerson Palmieri and goalkeeper Alphonse Aréola. After the defensive sector, which the club had made a priority, the leaders of the Hammers focused on renewing the offensive sector. Indeed, they have also signed Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwell Cornet, another former Lyonnais from Burnley as well as Swansea midfielder Flynn Downes. Paqueta would therefore be the eighth recruit of the English club during the XXL transfer window.

The Brazilian is a key element of Olympique Lyonnais as we told you above. He played 81 games, including 70 as a starter for 21 goals and 13 assists during his two years with the Rhone club. Moreover, he is highly regarded by Les Gones supporters, so he would leave a void that could only be filled with a big cheque. The latter would allow Olympian leaders to think more calmly about a potential replacement for the Brazilian.
