Web3 crypto: Mark Zuckerberg’s sister invents Web2.7!

Web3 isn’t as close as many imagine, according to Randi Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of production and marketing consultancy Zuckerberg Media and sister of the CEO of MetaMark Zuckerberg.

Randi Zuckerberg spoke about the state of Web3 and the fact that it is more of a concept, an “ideal utopia”, than a operational product. According to her, anarchy is taking hold in this new sector.

The former director of market development at Facebook pointed out that Web3 suffers from complications and requires too many steps to enter. For her, creating a crypto wallet, buying a coin and getting into the metaverse shouldn’t be complicated, it should be convenient and beginner-friendly.

Ms. Zuckerberg also mentioned the metaverse, one of the most popular concepts in Web3. She worried about the separation of metaverses created by various companies instead of a universal metaverse. This constitutes an obstacle to the development of this sector.

Randi said for example that she plays Decentraland and her 2 children play Roblox and Fortnite, but they cannot communicate with each other. As was the case with blockchains before the advent of bridge.

The CEO of Zuckerberg Media said she believes centralization may be the answer when it comes to the future of Web3 and there is still a lot to do to protect consumers and their assets.

She talked about Web2.7: a kind of compromise between Web2 and Web3. This new concept would allow some centralization to ensure the security of users, while allowing them to retain ownership of their digital assets.
