Abnormal dilation of a vein, the varicose vein is generally located on the legs, and is manifested by several symptoms. Here are the ones that should alert you.
heavy legs
When the veins in the legs are dilated, the blood has difficulty returning to the heart because it is stagnant in the legs. This phenomenon then causes a feeling of heaviness in the lower limbs, which can be accompanied by itching.
edema
In case of varicose veins, edema – swelling in the ankles, feet or legs – can form. Knowing that heat is an important risk factor for varicose veins and the appearance of swelling, as is standing or sitting for a long time.
spider veins
Another symptom is the presence of varicosities, or telangiectasias, small bright red or bluish blood vessels visible through the skin. Varicose veins can also appear in the form of large veins in relief, on the legs, in the crease of the knees, and/or on the thighs.
the cramps
In case of varicose veins, it is also common to have muscle contractions that occur during the night, or upon waking. These cramps occur in the toes and calves.
