This summer, FC Barcelona has been widely noticed on the transfer market. Stuck in an unprecedented financial crisis, the club chaired by Joan Laporta was forced by LaLiga to activate several economic levers (sale of part of TV rights in particular) – the famous “palancas” – to stay in the nails and recruit .
The Blaugrana recruitment has also caused a lot of talk since Barça was able to enlist Robert Lewandowski, Jules Koundé, Raphinha, Franck Kessié and Andreas Christensen (not to mention the extension of Ousmane Dembélé). The last two cities arrived free of any contract, but the other three cost nearly €160 million. A nice feat for some, a bit of a sleight of hand for others.
Kessié and Christensen could leave if they want
Still, FC Barcelona still finds itself faced with a big problem. Yes, the Culers have managed a great recruitment campaign, but at the moment they cannot register their 5 recruits in La Liga. A situation to say the least comical which forced Laporta to activate a fourth lever to register its recruits. A new agreement which should bring in 100 M€ in the blaugranas coffers. In today’s edition, Mundo Deportivo talk about elsewhere “a race against time”. And the Catalan daily is right.
In effect, ESPN dropped a small bombshell by claiming that two of the Blaugrana reinforcements could slam the door by next Saturday! Arrived without a contract in Catalonia, Franck Kessié and Andreas Christensen would have a clause in their contract allowing them to leave Barça freely if the Culers cannot register them by the start of the Spanish championship (scheduled for next Saturday). ESPN indicates, however, that the parties concerned are not yet considering this scenario, but this new element puts Joan Laporta under even more pressure!
