The Police and the Gendarmerie are recruiting blockchain experts

In order to strengthen their skills vis-à-vis the cryptocurrency ecosystem, the National Police and the National Gendarmerie have launched a recruitment campaign for blockchain experts. Thus, the police are looking for complete profiles, both capable of carrying out investigative work and training personnel.

The National Police and the National Gendarmerie are interested in the blockchain

Recently, the “Bourse emploi public” website, which lists government job offers, has seen Police and Gendarmerie announcements regarding the search for profiles specialized in blockchain.

The two announcements have similarities in terms of the expected missions. There is of course the “investigation” dimension, relating to cybercrime, but also the educational side through staff training.

On the side of the National Police, the recruits will be assigned to the central office for the fight against crime linked to information and communication technologies (OCLCTIC). As for the National Gendarmerie, it is the command of the Gendarmerie in cyberspace (ComCyberGend) which is authoritative.

For both announcements, applicants have until December 31 next to apply. Nevertheless, it is specified that the positions are open to holders and contractors. This means that you must either already be part of the forces of order or have a contract with the Ministry of the Interior.

What profiles are you looking for?

In order to hope for a place, applicants must ensure that they have certain skills in cryptocurrencies. For example, the Police clearly specify that you have to know how to use blockchain transaction analysis tools like Chainalysis, and know how the main networks work. This involves pseudonymous blockchains like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH)but also anonymous like ZCash (ZEC) and Monero (XMR).

We can also note that an understanding of how mixers work is required. In addition, basic programming languages in Solidity and Python are appreciated.

Regarding diplomas, the Police asks for at least one Bac+5 in finance, which does not seem to be the case with the Gendarmerie. However, the latter will require, for example, a “expert levelon the legal field.

In addition to the investigative facet described on the job descriptions, future recruits will also be led to train the other investigators, as well as the magistrates. In addition, the Gendarmerie’s announcement indicates that its competent staff will be required to participate in various crypto events in France or abroad, and to lead educational seminars.

Thus, this refers to our previous file on recruitments and dismissals in the ecosystem. Indeed, even in difficult market times, there are opportunities to work in blockchain. The police are no exception, because they too will be increasingly in contact with these new technologies in their daily lives.
