The Next Google Pixel 7 May Have Been Revealed In A Hands-on Video

We expect Google to officially launch its next Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro phones in September, but we may have just gotten our first look at the phones already, with a hands-on video uploaded to YouTube.

Before you ask – no, these aren’t the latest Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro models. Popular tech YouTuber Unbox Therapy posted a hands-on video purportedly showing prototypes of both phones. They’re clearly not production-ready, but they also look different from the Pixel 6 phones that the two replace.

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro both retain the visor-like camera block that extends across the back of the phone, but there’s a metal cover around the camera lenses instead of the all-glass cover shiny used in the Pixel 6. This seems to confirm the design we saw when Google teased phones at Google I/O in May.

The video shows a handful of tiny differences between the two phones, like a matte finish on the Pixel 7’s metal frame versus the glossy finish on the Pixel 7 Pro’s frame. None of the prototypes were able to start, leaving us in the dark about the software experience, but given everything Google has shared about Android 13, it’s not exactly a mystery.

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
