A 36-year-old Italian, returning from a trip to Spain, had symptoms of coronavirus and monkeypox, for which he tested positive. Doctors also discovered that he had HIV.

High fever, painful blisters and pimples
The facts took place at the beginning of July. The man, nine days after a stay in Spain from June 16 to 20, reports having suffered from high fever reaching up to 39.5 ° C, fatigue and sore throat. Without surprise, He tested positive for Covid-19 2nd of July. He was infected with the Omicron BA.5.1 variant.
The same day, pimples appeared on his left arm. The next day, July 3, small painful blisters, that is to say a lesion of the skin in the form of blisters, covered many parts of his body.

The young man told doctors that during his stay in Spain he had unprotected sex with another man. The Journal of Infection scientists warn of the possibility of “co-infection with SARS-Cov-2 and monkeypox, particularly for subjects who have recently traveled to monkeypox epidemic areas”.
