Elon Musk is convinced: the Tesla Model Y must become the best-selling car in the world by 2023. Really?
Tesla just keeps getting bigger. In 2021, the Californian brand approached the bar of one million vehicles sold worldwide. Despite major problems related to shortages of certain materials, Elon Musk’s brand will still sell many more cars in 2022 (we are talking about at least 1.3 million cars according to forecasts). Tesla will thus begin to approach seriously the largest premium manufacturers in the world, Mercedes and BMW in mind.
And according to Elon Musk, the Model Y will simply become the best-selling car in the world in 2023. Even if the American electric SUV is currently selling very well and awash in orders, the forecast seems optimistic to us: in 2021 , the best-selling car in the world was the Toyota Rav4 with 1,132,000 units sold.
Possible ?
In short, if Tesla really manages to sell more than a million Model Ys in a single year, it will be a real tour de force.
