Steam soon available in Elon Musk’s Tesla cars?

Will it soon be possible to access Steam, Valve’s platform dedicated to video games, in your next electric and connected vehicle? On some models designed by Tesla, this eventuality is about to materialize. In a response to a tweet, the automaker’s CEO, Elon Musk, said the company “moving forward with Steam integration” and that the general public can expect “a demo probably next month”.

Tesla’s interest in gaming is nothing new. Already in February, Elon Musk had indicated on Twitter that the company was working on the integration of specific games. And he had basically confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 would one day be playable from the cabin of a Tesla Model S or X. Still, for the moment, the game developed by CD Projekt RED is still waiting there.

Tesla already offers a number of games through Tesla Arcade, its integrated platform designed to keep vehicle owners busy while charging. It is thus possible to play titles known as Cuphead, Beach Buggy Racing 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog. Obviously, the integration of Steam would provide access to a rich catalog of titles.
