Market point-Carried by Tesla and Netflix, Wall Street ends up

* The Dow Jones gains 0.51%, the S&P-500 0.99% and the Nasdaq 1.36%

July 21 (Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange ended higher on Friday, buoyed by encouraging results from Tesla and Netflix which helped offset the decline in telecoms and energy stocks.

The Dow Jones index gained 0.51%, or 162.06 points, to 32,036.9 points.

The broader S&P-500 gained 39.05 points, or 0.99%, to 3,998.95 points.

The Nasdaq Composite advanced by 161.96 points (1.36%) to 12,059.61 points.

In values, Tesla jumped 9.78% after announcing better than expected results driven by a more advantageous pricing policy.

Netlix, gained 3.44%, again after pleasantly surprising the markets.

On the oil market, WTI stood at $96.44 (-3.44%) and Brent at $104.00 (-2.71%), contributing to lower energy-related values.

The dollar rose by -0.34% against a basket of currencies a few minutes after the close of Wall Street, while the euro stood at 1.0221 dollars (+0.43%).

On the bond market, ten-year paper lost 15.9 basis points to settle at 2.8766%. Its five-year counterpart fell -19.8 basis points to 2.9792%.
