Fatal accident with a Tesla in Paris: the driver maintains his version of the facts

More than four months after the tragedythe mystery still hangs over the conditions that led to the accident of a Tesla car in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, resulting in the death of one person and in injuring twenty others.

The driver of the Tesla Model 3a taxi driver from the G7 company, has since filed a complaint against the American company for “endangering the lives of others” with the Versailles prosecutor’s office. Indicted for ” manslaughter and unintentional injuries by land motor vehicle”, he testifies for the first time since the accident in the columns of the Parisian.

A driver “convinced of having pressed the brake pedal”

In an interview given to Parisianthe 56-year-old driver, who was on a private trip with his family, returned for the first time to the circumstances of the tragedy now his version. He claims not to be the cause of the accident, having suffered ” uncontrolled acceleration at nearly 100 km/h from his Model 3.

“100%” sure of having pressed the brake pedal, the car would have raced on its own to finish its mad race against a Renault Express after colliding with a glass container and a traffic light.

Tesla’s latest corporate statements refuted this line of defense, stating that there was ” no technical failure of the car. “Following the accident, the 37 Model 3 of the G7 company had been stopped. The Tesla Model 3 have recently returned to the fleet of G7 vehicles, on the condition that the drivers undergo training in driving the cars, and ensure that the on-board systems are updated.
