Cryptocurrency: Binance launches an education center in Cameroon, in partnership with Inoni Tech

(Business in Cameroon) – In an official press release published on August 23, 2022, Binance, presented as the first blockchain ecosystem and provider of crypto-asset infrastructure in the world, announced the launch in Cameroon of its first crypto education hub. Located in Yaoundé, the country’s capital, this cryptocurrency education center was launched in collaboration with Inoni Tech, a non-profit tech hub providing resources and training to young people across Francophone Africa.

With the “(…) Binance crypto hub, we see (…) an essential step to demystify the concepts, foster a good understanding of the many opportunities that education, web3.0 and the blockchain ecosystem can bring to Cameroon and, in the end of account, to French-speaking Africa”, says Carine Dikambi, Head of Francophone Africa at Binance.

Regular skills training sessions will help create new employment opportunities for Cameroonians – many of them able to learn new skills, in order to remain globally employable.“, we underline at Binance.

As a reminder, in the CEMAC zone to which Cameroon belongs, cryptocurrency activity is not yet regulated. But, following the global movement around the blockchain, structures to promote investments in cryptocurrency have emerged, arousing the ire of Cosumaf, the regulator of the sub-regional financial market. This is the case of Liyeplimal in Cameroon. Its promoter, Emile Parfait Simb, was recently arrested and then released, following a complaint for fraud filed by a hundred subscribers.
