They killed the suspense at the start by taking pole position, and never let go. The two Toyotas, the n°8 and the n°7 (LMP1 category, now Hypercar), took control of the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, winning respectively one in front of the other, Sunday 12 June.

In the lead at 8 a.m. on Sunday, the two cars of the Japanese team fought a fratricidal duel which turned to the advantage of the n°8, composed of Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa, against his sister ( Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez). They finished ahead of the Glickenhaus 007 LMH (n°709) of Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and the Frenchman Franck Mailleux.

The Toyota team, which has won the last four editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, therefore gleans a fifth consecutive coronation in the Sarthe, and joins the top 5 of the most successful manufacturers in the history of the event. In the other categories, it was Jota (#38) who won in LMP2 (5th overall), while the #91 Porsche in GTE Pro, and the #33 from TF Sport in GTE Am illustrated themselves.
